Striate is the debut EP album of the live coding duo RAW that uses algorithmic sound patterns and blends them together with extensive creative coding skills to construct rich audio-visual performances since 2016. While encapsulating the visual and auditory features of digital media, the two songs in this EP are integrating diversified elements of rhythmic patterns, signal processing, resampling and sound architecture in a minimalist music setting. Unlike conventional music production methods, mixing and editing of songs have been executed by utilizing algorithmic approaches. Moreover, RAW shares the pleasure of distributing the computer codes that have been written for making this debut EP as an open source.
Striate, the debut work of RAW in an EP format, blends today's digital aesthetics and technology, questioning new possibilities in sound and music production.
